I have a new Dragon Touch X10 Android and have copied a number of routes onto it from my PC. However, I have been unable to sync. When I touch the "Go Flying" option I get an error box entitled "SkyDemon for Android" and the message "There was an error when trying to access GPS information". The only option then is to press the OK button which only removes the error box. My Android is not GPS equipped and I am only trying to sync between the two devices. I have tried it with two mobile units. I would appreciate some advice please and thank you in anticipation.

Graham.

Just a tip regarding saving your route from cloud to your local in-flight navigation device (I got caught by this a few time).
Like you I plan using my laptop at home and then save routes to the cloud. I then download from the cloud to my navigation device (Samsung S3 smartphone).
If you have poor or no internet connection at your airfield make sure you have saved your downloaded route  (from cloud) to your local device before leaving home.
Otherwise, just as you are ready to go flying, you find you can't access your pre-planned route from the cloud!

Good point Tony. I've been caught out this way as well and ended up trying to re-create my route "on the hoof" from memory.

Hi Both

Just to clarify, the Android is my new tablet for planning (I normally use a PC) and I have two GPS-equipped mobile devices for use in-flight. Being a dinosaur, Mike, one is a SkyDemon SD unit and the other a 3rd Party device. I can access the Cloud on my PC and also the Android tablet but not the mobile units. Although I can download routes from the PC to both mobiles I am unable to do the same from the Android. From your comments it appears that your mobiles are able to download routes direct from the Cloud but neither of mine does - there is no option to do so. I'm in communication with SkyDemon's Hannah so I will see what she has to say. Thanks to you both for your help so far.

Graham.

Hi All

Just heard from Hannah and it appears that my antiquated mobiles are the culprits - more expense involved!

Anyway, thank you all for your assistance and happy flying.

Graham.
